Babblings...

Well, I did manage to get some guitar practice in last night, not quite an hour but pretty close. Can play Johnny Cash's "Walk The Line" now without concentrating.. Anyone has been playing the guitar for a reasonable amount of time and has heard this song will know that this is not exactly a great achievement.. However, I would like to say in my defence... SCREW YOU! :p. Sadly this actually is a real achievement for me lol. I am still regaining full use of my right arm so playing at speed with rhythm is a bit of an issue for me.

Work today was ok, but was in there all day alone.. haven't started talking to myself yet but pretty certain I am not far off of that level of crazy.

Came home and again I am on my lonesome. Everyone has gone to Southampton to catch a show. So I ordered in some Chinese food from "New View" restaurant in Leigh Park. Ended up with way too much thanks to the very friendly staff there:

Left to Right: Chicken Satay, Cantonese Duck, Roast Pork in Cantonese Sauce.

Clockwise from top: Pork Dumplings, Sweet and Sour Crispy Squid, Dipping Sauce, House Special Fried Rice.

Was really good food. I am not usually a fan of Chinese takeaway as it rarely resembles real authentic Chinese food. This though was rather nice. The Chicken Satay was amazing with chunky satay chicken on skewers and a nice thick sauce. The Cantonese Duck had a fantastic crispy skin, tender and moist meat and was covered in a thick hoi sin Cantonese sauce. The Roast Pork was equally as moist and tender and covered in the same delicious sauce as the duck. The Sweet and Sour Crispy Squid was good, although a little too sweet for my usual taste.. still very enjoyable though and  the squid was very tender indeed. The dumplings were moist and very tasty and the rice was perfectly cooked and jam packed with chicken, char siu pork and king prawns. Was all in all a very good meal, and very large portions. Was a reasonable price too.

Now sat watching "Dogma" on TV.  Awesome movie! Kevin Smith movies are always worth a watch and are a good laugh. This one however is, in my opinion, is his masterpiece. A somewhat cynical look at religion. It is certainly not Anti-God, it just questions some of the beliefs and practices of religion. The over-riding moral of the movie (as I see it) is that it is good to have faith, but maybe it is better to have it in your own way rather than to subscribe to the enforced beliefs of a religion. As a Christian with somewhat unorthodox views, I personally whole heartedly agree. On top of this it is a rather funny movie with an interesting and entertaining plot.

Snoogens!
